The accelerating development of China in economy leads to the great increase in users. Because the number of users is increasing sharply, resulting in more time spending on inspection and maintenance, higher labor costs and lower reliability. It poses a greater difficult for power companies to maintain the energy metering device, which is unable to do it in the traditional way by checking the device one by one. Therefore, a more advanced maintenance methods have emerged, which is electronic and networking. Power companies all over the country are vigorously pursuing the construction and energy metering automation systems installed in the field to achieve the power generation, supply, distribution, sale of electricity metering points on each side of the energy data and status information acquisition by automated metering and smart meter terminal. The application of metering automation system can achieve automatic meter reading and monitoring, greatly reducing the cost of labors and time, as well as improving work efficiency and reliability.Metering automation system consists of six levels, namely the integrated application layer, business process layer, data processing layer, pre-acquisition layer, communication layer and the field device level. The main businesses focus on the business process layer and integrated application layer. Business process layer contains four subsystems, including large customer load management systems, electric power plant station telemetry systems, power distribution transformer metering management system and low-voltage detection power users centralized meter reading system.Metering automation systems are widely used in metering and maintenance services, from metering, power monitoring, tamper monitoring to line loss analysis, etc. Power monitoring alarm function further improves the efficiency in maintenance and measurement. Using spot metering automation systems for real-time monitoring, maintainers will receive an alarm signal from the backstage as long as anything abnormal and arrive at the scene to check and maintain. Maintainer could accurately fix the location of errors or users who steal electricity, being free from repeatedly monitoring and maintaining in the fixed location on the fixed time.With the development of economy, the number of users becomes larger. With the great number of alarms in the backstage and complication of electricity usage, causes for alarming are various. Investigation should be analyzed one by one, and the great quantities of investigation not only takes time but field verification. Therefore, consequence of measurement accident would be extremely serious if a real error is missed because of the false alarms.By analyzing the causes of false alarms, we could conclude the logical defects, and by combining to the user’s site, improve the methods of data processing as well as the accuracy of the Fault Location. Analysis on energy data of user, personnel could figure out the most possible user with errors and deal with the problem by a process of elimination through logical analysis.
