In recent decades, with the improvement of technology and the diversity of ideology, the development of architecture has made a big process: on one hand, the emergence of new materials and the development of construction technology provided an effective guarantee; On the other hand, more and more design competitions made the building types to be accuracy. The appearance of the architecture also made the art to be diversified. However, there are many problems exposed in this process: different artistic goal brought a wide variety of architectural styles, cities became the architects` experiment field, new buildings emerged in an endless stream and therefore produced some weird construction scale. At the same time, people were fade away from the high press of life, and they even lost their original judgment to construction. As Einstein said: "the characteristic of The Era is in tool improvement but the disorder target." It embodied the modern architecture of the dilemma which is not lack of ideas but too chaos due to the much of external references. In view of this, the author thinks that we should look back to the most basic cognitive prototype--our own body, and to rethink the human body proportion, because we may also find the potential connection between people and architecture to use this universal law. This thesis is comprised with five chapters: the first chapter is the introduction of the statement that includes the origins of the topic, topic background and significance, research objectives, content and methods as well as the thesis research framework and so on; The second chapter expounds the related concepts of human body proportion, including several specific division ratio type; The third chapter introduces the evolution of the human body proportion in the history of architecture, and focuses on the western architectural history on the basis of the human body proportion; The fourth chapter focuses on theapplication of modern or contemporary design by human body proportion, with the golden section and the average proportion from Fujimoto; The fifth chapter discusses the revelation and prospect of human body proportion in future. At the end, I hope the paper can inspire more thinking about human body proportion, because we can build up the connection between human body and architecture by body proportion.
