With the development of our national economy, many expressways have increasingly showed their inadequacy in traffic capacity. Therefore, the reconstruction and extension of expressways are in urgent and extensive need. The reuse of traffic facilities is an effective way to save resources and costs of this reconstruction and extension project, also it has advantageous performance at energy conservation and emission reduction projects. Having considered costs analysis of the whole life cycle, this paper has systematically studied safety facilities, plants and electrical facilities. The major work of this paper are as followed:In this thesis, the evaluation and methods of guardrail was formulated, based on both domestic and international relevant standards in guardrail and actual guardrail project and the reuse of technology and economic requirements of the whole life cycle. To solve the issues of the insufficient capacity of guardrail,the rehabilitation program of the re-use of guardrail rehabilitation programs was proposed, and then the depth of the column,the definition of concrete grade, reinforced reinforcement, concrete pouring height were designed specifically. And to meet the crash competency requirements and design an interior guardrail collision experimental program according to JTGD81-2006 "Highway Traffic Safety Facilities design specifications". Also to conduct and validate simulation of crash worthiness of guardrail retrofit scheme on the basis of LS-DYNA explicit dynamic analysis simulation program. At last, to calculate and carry through analysis evaluation the economic profits of guardrail retrofit scheme based on the whole life scheme.As to the expressway plant plays an irreplaceable role in anti-dazzle, landscaping and sand-fixing. The growth status evaluation techniques and testing methods of plants were proposed based on its recycled technology, full life-cycle economy requirements as well as its specifications, quality standards. Finally, the feasibility of the highway plants recycling programs was verified, through the whole life cycle of the highway plants economic evaluation.As an integral part of the expressway, the re-use research of mechanical and electrical facilities is an effective means of saving the economy in expressway expansion project The recycling technology processes of electrical and mechanical facilities were proposed by establishing recycling quality detection technology assessment method, combining electrical and mechanical facilities appearance evaluation and performance testing. Combined the entire process of mechanical and electrical facilities, its full life-cycle cost analysis theory was established.
