With the development of economy, with the world trend of increasing, Sport Utility Vehicle, (or SUV) as a variety of sports performance models, the quantity is also grow with each passing day, at the same time, because of its high centroid, the body weight lead to high speed steering roll causing rollover accidents are on the rise. Thus, many ways such as differential braking, active four wheel steering to improve lateral stability approach in research and application widely.The lateral stability control strategy to adjust the damping of suspension in the sport utility vehicle turning at high speed on the highway, the roll control roll reaction torque control sport utility vehicle; and the identification method and the height control switch, ensure multi-purpose sports car with suspension and the centroid height suitable under different road conditions, reduce the centroid in high speed driving conditions. The main work includes the following aspects:establishing the dynamic model for lateral stability of multi-purpose sports car, the overall structure scheme of dynamic model, according to the established in Matlab/Simulink for the lateral stability of dynamic simulation model, a simulation platform for car roll control, and after the debug simulation model of lateral stability for multi-purpose sports car of the classic PID control and fuzzy PID control of two kinds of algorithms, a roll control PID controller and fuzzy PID controller is based on PID controller and fuzzy PID controller to control the damping continuously adjustment control vehicle roll to provide theoretical reference. PID controller and fuzzy PID controller based on, for roll damping continuously adjustment control simulation in the three conditions.The suspension damping PID controller, fuzzy PID controller, hierarchical control and without control effect were analyzed, verified the theoretical feasibility of suspension damper for vehicle lateral stability multi-purpose sports control, and verify the control effect of the fuzzy PID controller is superior compared to the traditional PID control, the control effect and the damping continuously regulation compared superiority in suspension damping grading regulation.
