Active Suspension as an important part of the vehicle system, its stand or fall determines the standard of vehicle handing stability, taking comfort and moving harshness, and it’s also an assembly which is difficult to achieve perfect requirements. At present, the most widely used suspension on vehicle is passive suspension. The passive suspension, to some degree, can improve the running characteristics and taking comfort, but once its spring stiffness and damping coefficient are selected, they can not be changed. This shortcoming greatly restricts its application. With the rapid development of computer technology, people have put forward higher requirements on handing stability and moving harshness of cars and active suspension system will become the main development direction in the vehicle suspension field in the future. Because of the reasons mentioned above, the study of active suspension has profound practical significance and broad application prospect.This paper mainly studies the effects of active suspension on vehicle ride comfort. According to the evaluation standards of international standard documents ISO 2631:1997 (E) weighted acceleration to study the effects of vibration on human health and comfort, and the road surface disturbance model and vehicle suspension systems are carried out in-depth research; Because of highway pavement spectrum B, C two grades roads accounted for the largest proportion, so the white noise road model using the integral form of B, C two road simulation model; This paper establishes a quarter vehicle model (including the driver model and seat model), the model is for the study of vibration characteristics of the vehicle in the vertical direction; due to the limitation of a quarter vehicle model on vehicle ride comfort studies, then established a half vehicle model, The model is based on research about vertical vibration characteristics and further investigate the effects of pitching motion characteristics of the body effect on the vehicle ride comfort; Finally PID control and fuzzy control method with practical value of a comprehensive comparison of traditional passive suspension, PID control strategy impact of active suspension and active suspension fuzzy control strategies under the car ride, and the simulation results are analyzed and compared.By contrast, the analysis of the performance characteristics of different control strategies under active suspension control system was given. Conclusion is fuzzy control strategy based on active suspension can effectively reduce the driver’s vertical acceleration and pitch angular acceleration of the body, making the car significantly improved ride comfort.
