Permanent magnetic driver (PMD) is a gearing device achieving non-contact transmission for force or torque based on magnetic drive technology. By adjust the air gap thickness, it can provide adjustable speed. It avoids frictional loss and has better sealing ability compared with traditional gearing devices. For deeper research on PMD, the analytical model needs to be built. As for speed regulation, a control method should be adopted to provide adjustable speed.First the structure and principle of disk PMD with adjustable speed are studied firstly in this paper along with basic electromagnetic field theory, based on which the structure designing is completed. Optimizing on structural parameters of disk PMD is carried out to achieve the goal of reducing magnet field loss in air and increasing magnetic flux density in disk PMD.3D transient FEA analysis on magnetic field, eddy current and torque is done on optimized disk PMD.The analytical model of disk PMD is built adopting SVM (separate variable method). The comparison with FEA method is carried out to validate the rationality and accuracy of mathematical model. In order to investigate heat effect of eddy current, the current model is computed and simulation with finite method is done. Also the temperature field is analyzed and a forced air cooling is adopted to decrease the working temperature of permanent magnets.The realization of disk PMD speed regulating is discussed. The disk PMD speed regulating control system is designed and DC torque motor is selected as control object of this servo system. Also double AC torque motor is adopted for the high demand on response speed of control system. Control model of double AC torque motor is built.ADRC method is studied and the application scope of second order ADRC controller is discussed. ADRC controller on speed loop is designed to control double DC torque motor. To validate the rationality of ADRC controller simulation is carried out on Simulink. Two methods of designing ADRC controller on position loop is brought up.
