Along with our country’s high-speedeconomic development and rapid urbanization process, city scale has beenincreasingly expanding, which requires higher road construction speed and much more improved construction qualities. Consequently, road standards for facilitating urban development of modern society have gradually risen up. Motor vehicle traffic is obviously the major component of the overall layout of road networks. Besides, bike and walk road traffic account for another two significant components of road layout. As a consequence, the greenway system of bicycleroad network has become an indispensable part of urban greenconstruction. This article takes into account the comprehensive greenway construction from the perspective of urban systematic development, and puts forward practical and feasible approaches to comprehensive greenway constructionso as to promote effective utilization of urban resources. In this project, the construction of urban comprehensive greenway network seeks to provide enough protection for urban ecological environment and needs to consider the advantages from multiple perspectives in order to become a symbol of harmonious society building in the future. This comprehensive greenway network primarily consists of various urban modules, including linear green space, corridor, waterfront road, school, community, business center, bicycle green way, artificial green space, human landscape, natural landscape and so on.In this study, featured area in EC city is chosen as a case to focus on the study of constructionsaround the river. This studyregards the major landscape beltand bike greenway along the river, comprehensively plans the space from the perspective of point, line and area and integrates existing resources, and proposes the innovative and comprehensivegreenwayconstruction scheme. This paper combines advanced foreign practical experienceand puts forward the buildingapproach for the urban comprehensivegreenwaynetwork.This scheme regards the riverside bicycle greenway as major corridor, organically integrates wetland parks, ecological scenic areas, historical blocks, communities, schools, industrial parks, commercial centersand other kinds of urban space, and eventually forms a secure, healthy, leisure and comfortable urban greenway network system. In the following sections, this paper carries out overlay greenway planning, which adds up all the different types of historic and cultural road, leisure and entertainment road and traffic and touring road, and generates the final planning scheme and subsequent concrete design strategies.
