With the development of human and industrial civilization, the automobile has gradually become one part of human production and life. But with the rising amount of automobile, the increasingly serious environmental pollution and energy shortage problem has gradually come into people’s horizon. Therefore, the development of low fuel consumption, low emission of new energy vehicle(NEV) has become the main trend in the automotive industry, also the realization of new energy vehicle R&D and manufacturing has become the main task of the major automobile manufacturing enterprise. Compared with the traditional vehicle and pure electric vehicle, the hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) has more advantages. In order to achieve the requirement of motor performance and also reduce the fuel consumption and emissions effectively, the HEV provide the effective ways to solve the shortage of energy and improve the environmental problem, this also become the main direction of the development of vehicle today.The research analyzes the driving model of HEV, generally the HEV have two or more energy source as the root of power output, which through the energy transfer of the vehicle components to drive the car. It can not only use the engine or motor singly work mode, but also can use the two joint operation mode, with the reasonable energy control strategy arrangement, the engine and motor output torque which can obtain the satisfied fuel economy and emission. As the core technology of HEV, the design of control strategy will influence the performance of total vehicle system directly. In order to achieve the requirement of dynamic performance, fuel economy and emission of the vehicle in driving process, a good energy control strategy can allocate the output torque of the engine and motor. Therefore, as the energy control center of HEV, the research on energy control strategy becomes more and more important. Most of normal HEVs equip the electric assistant control strategy, which can ensure the reasonable distribution of two power sources, but this control strategy can only maintain the engine working characteristics in the high efficiency range, and cannot achieve in the optimal range according to the roads conditions, the fuel economy and emissions cannot also be well reflected in different road conditions and vehicle system parameters. So it is necessary to design and analyze the control strategy for the further time.In order to solve the above problems, this research makes a thorough study on the total vehicle structural and fuel economy model to design a more reasonable and more efficiency hybrid driving strategy for the requirement. Also state the working principle, control strategy and advantages and disadvantages of normal HEVs. By using the technical hybrid simulation software Advisor2002 to simulate and analyze the key parts of HEVs, and in the environment of Matlab/Simulink design the fuzzy control strategy to achieve the requirement of HEVs,then embed the designed model to the Advisor2002 to simulate and analyze. Compared with the electric assistant control strategy HEVs, the fuzzy control strategy has more improvement in the fuel economy, emission, energy storage battery SOC as well as the driving dynamic performance. That is all verified the design of drive system simulation model and control strategy with correctness and feasibility.
