With the continuous development of digital communication and microprocessor technology, the degree of automation in the field of industrial control becomes more and more high. As one of the flood control and drainage of water conservancy facilities, the pumping station’s reliability and real-time are directly related to people’s production and living. Taking the renovation project of Nanchang Changbei Fenghe pumping station for the design background, this paper aims at designing a set of pump station control system which is based on redundant system, and applies the visual detection technology in detecting the opening of the gate.This paper designs the hardware and the control program for gate control system,pump control system and PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) control system respectively. The hardware design focuses on the hardware module selection and configuration of PLC redundant control system, while the control program design puts the PLC control program as the core.In the program design of PLC redundant system, this paper firstly takes the data synchronization function block FB101 as a case for describing the realizing principle of redundant function by using Siemens SWRAGSEND300 software redundant libraries in detail. Then to design the redundant program for organization block OB35,OB86 and FC100. Finally, the design of the redundant program is finished by inserting other system organization blocks. In the program design of gate control system, the flow chart and STL statement are used to design the gate lifting control and the failure process respectively,and the design focuses on the remote control of the gate lifting. The program design of pump control system adopts the method of FB6 combining with FC3 to improve the efficiency and flexibility of programming.Then, in order to monitor the control system remotely and real-timely, this paper designs the monitoring configuration for starting screen, gate operation screen and water pump operation screen by using WinCC(Windows Control Center) configuration software,and uses OPC(OLE for Process Control) technology to complete the communication between WinCC and PLC successfully.Finally, this paper studies the visual detection technology which aims at the deficiencies of gate opening detection. Firstly, according to the request of the operation of pumping station,to draw out the MATLAB graphical user interface. Then, to focus on describing the acquisition and process of gate opening image by using the camera, image acquisition card and MATLAB graphical user interface program. Ultimately, to send the results to the WinCC configuration software directly through the local OPC server whichissued the corresponding operation command according to operational requirements.The entire control system makes use of redundant technology and visual detection technology to improve the reliability, real-time and accuracy, and effectively protects the people’s lives and property, truly reflects the operation mode of the pumping station which is "unattended, few people on duty".
