Wireless Mesh network is a new type of wireless network, which can provide accessing in network and routing functions at the same time. And, one peer can be communicated with one or more other peers in Mesh network. Wireless Mesh network can work without wiring relative to traditional switched networks. For another, it still supports redundant mechanisms and re-routing functions as distributed networks.This paper focused on the research of data acquisition and exchange among all kinds of ship bridge equipment with wireless Mesh network. The result of this research will meet requirements of e-Navigation strategy in the future, such as wireless accessing, adaptive networking, internet applications and convenient maintenance, etc. The main research content is design and implementation of composition structure and transmission protocol of information collection system based on Mesh networks. Hardware and software are designed with modular design method in this paper based on the analysis of structure and characteristics of the wireless Mesh network.Firstly, with different system schemes being analyzed, ARM was selected as core controller and si4463 module as core wireless transmission module for hardware platform. And, according to hierarchical structure of wireless Mesh system, data collection node and server node were respectively designed. At data acquisition node device, serial data acquisition and control of data sending and receiving are executed by ARM controller, and data is exchanged among different node device through wireless data transmission module. In additional, for server node terminal, data acquisition and wired network transmission control are executed by ARM controller, and the function of exchange data with other data acquisition modules is realized by wireless data transmission module.Software development is based on C language on KEIL integrated development environment and C++ language on Qt development environment, including data acquisition node, server node and server three parts. Standard AODV protocol was partly simplified and improved. Based on the AODV protocol, the wireless Mesh network can automatically change its network structure and adjust the transmission path according to the connection status between acquisition node and server node in order to adapt to the changes of system environment. Furthermore, it also can complete human-computer interaction at the server end.In this paper, the minimum system of Mesh network information collection and transmission is designed, and the data can be transmitted between any two nodes of the system, and the server node can be reached by single point, double point and multi-hop three ways. The system can execute the serial data acquisition, wireless transmission and the display and storage of the server side under different working methods, which is completed with the requirements of the design.
