Ship power system is one of the indispensable core systems of modern ship, diesel generator system as the power supply of ship power system, its performance has a significant impact on the power system. In order to analyze and research the ship diesel generator system, use CAT3516C type marine diesel generator as the research object, and the CAT3516C type diesel generator simulation system is designed and developed.In this paper, the research content including the mechanism mathematical model of diesel engine, the fuzzy PID control strategy research of speed control system, the design and development of two-dimensional simulation software and three-dimensional virtual scene simulation for diesel generator simulation system. The creation of diesel engine model in this project use the average value method, and according to the modular modeling thought, the modeling of the diesel body, the air suction and discharge system, the turbocharger system and the air cooler system are conducted, and the accuracy and real-time capability of the modeling are validated. With the analysis of the speed control system, using Fuzzy Logic Toolbox to design the fuzzy PID controller which the speed of diesel generator as the control object, the fuzzy PID controller is applied in the modeling of diesel generator, and the control result is analyzed; based on the simulation research, the design and development of two-dimensional simulation software and three-dimensional virtual scene for CAT3516C type diesel generator simulation system is conducted. The two-dimensional simulation platform is designed as the structure of model, data, display interface and model managements to achieve the hierarchical management and modular, and convenient for the maintenance of simulation program, the architecture use Microsoft Winform desktop application architecture to realize the rich performance capabilities of simulation program. The three-dimensional model in three-dimensional virtual simulation platform is firstly use Autodesk’s 3ds Max software for pre-production, and then imported into the Unity3D virtual scene for production, and at last, based on UDP protocol to achieve the data communications between the two-dimensional simulation systems and three-dimensional virtual scene, and by sharing the model data to keep both the states and parameters of the corresponding objects are kept in sync.The diesel generator simulation system of offshore engineering vessel designed and developed in this topic has a certain high accuracy, and consistent with the actual ship data,can be used for the teaching and training of marine engineering.
