Promoting the development of ecological city and Low-energy building is the major changes in the current worldwide, it is also a main policy area of tackling climate changes in our country. On the current development trend of green buildings. The attention of research and practice is mostly focused on the field of solving the problem of building’s energy consumption through hightech means. Not only upfront cost is huge, but also easy to lose regional characteristics of architecture, resulting in a variety of controversies concerning the green buildings’ cost-benefit. Judging from the actual conditions of current China, such issues as large population and the urbanrural disparity also hinder the accelerated implementation of green buildings. If only rely on mandatory policy measures or some real estate developers’ unconventional advertisements to achieve the promotion of green buildings, there are also considerable limitations. Instead focus on traditional architecture, under the condition of no high-tech means or system theory, it still can obtain the basic comfortable living environment. These aspects have played an important role in solving the problems of green buildings’ cost-benefit and popularization.First, based on the digging and summary to the Construction experience from the traditional houses in Shaoxing, this paper analyzes the macro level of location and arrangement, MiddleLevel of spatial distribution, and the micro level of detail structure with environment regulating function such as heat preservation, aeration, sunshade, etc. It is concluded that the passive regulation experience, under the special geographical climate environment in Shaoxing, is backed by scientific evidence in improving the micro environment inside and outside the house. Moreover, it will have a certain reference and guiding significance to create a low-cost and basic comfort of modern houses.Secondly, Inspired by typological method, the traditional houses’ ecological construction experience in Shanxing, is summed up as sixteen ecological model language. And under the guidance of the theory of "form follows the climate", the paper puts forward the related principles and methods of the inheritance based on the complementary and the coexistence of each other. And then, based on the evaluation method of the five level calibration, the paper establishes the evaluation system of the classification conversion from traditional model languages to modern. And based on the in-depth analysis of the evaluation results from the seven levels of location, arrangement, regional culture, Building volume, functional space, Microclimate control and water resources utilization, the specific transformation methods of the traditional model languages in the modern green buildings’ design are summarizes. Finally, taking the actual construction project as an example, the paper makes a concrete analysis on the ecological adaptability of the Shaoxing traditional model languages in the modern green buildings’ design. It proves that in the modern architectural design, the passive energy saving residential development model with the “low energy consumption, less pollution, small investment and high return”, is not only has an important guiding significance to inherit the traditional architectural culture, but also can make the people who have low and middle incomings recognize and accept green buildings from the root. It has good operability and reliability for accelerating the main tasks of energy saving, emission reduction, ecological protection and optimization of energy structure at the present stage of our country.
