Underground pipelines are the city’s important infrastructure, including eight kinds of pipelines such as electricity pipelines,telecommunication pipelines, tap water pipelines, gas pipelines and so on,which including thirty-two types of pipelines. And they distributed in every corner of the city. They are responsible for the transportation of information and energy in the city, and provide the material basis for the city’s survival and development, which the spatial information and attribute information is the basic information of digital city construction. Underground pipelines play an important role in urban planning, construction and management, and known as the “lifeline of the city”. Therefore, it is top priority of through the work of underground pipelines detection to get every pipelines information such as direction of the pipelines, pipelines buried depth and pipelines material, build the underground pipelines database and the three-dimensional pipeline management system, and realize the information management of the underground pipelines. Which can avoid the situation of repeated excavation and disorder construction in urban construction, and improve the digital level of the city.From the practical work, the author has read a large number of literatures, researched the principle of the underground pipelines detection, and detailed elaborate the set of technical processes and methods about the underground pipelines detection, pipelines database construction, three-dimensional pipelines system design. Combined with engineering characteristics, the paper has discussed the technical requirements of underground pipeline exploration, and the process of underground pipeline exploration, besides the paper also proposed method of detecting metal pipes, non-metallic pipelines. In combination with the example of the test area, this paper expounds the consistency test of the geophysical prospecting method and instrument, and puts forward the necessity of the consistency test of the geophysical prospecting method and instrument. After the completion of underground pipeline detection, we can obtain the high-precision surveying and mapping, storage and other work based on the detection result. The paper also study the design ideas, logical structure, function design of the 3D urban underground pipe network management system, and discusses the key technology of system construction, provides the reference for the underground pipeline census and information construction work.In this study, the paper obtained the following results:1) Combined with the exploration of digital Yanjiao pipeline, the paper summarized and analyzed the methods for the exploration of underground pipelines. Through the study of this paper, induction method, clamp method, the direct method applicable in metal pipeline detection, nonmetallic pipeline should be combined with field investigation and geological radar detection. For more complex distribution of the pipeline area, to focus related information on the search of the ground and pipeline to make a presentence, and then to detect the location of an abnormal point one by on.2) Underground pipeline information collection. Compared with traditional pipeline exploration information, this paper has studied the information collection work of the underground pipelines in the construction of digital Yanjiao underground pipeline system, and obtains the contents, methods and points of attention of the pipeline point, line and pipeline data collection.3) This paper studied the technology flow and theory method of underground pipeline survey and production, evaluated and analyzed the detect results to make a quality.4) This paper studied the process and methods of pipeline database construction. The method with the Outside sketch and the industry computer database construction is suitable for city comprehensive pipeline census due to the low cost and high efficiency. While the Android manual outside the industry database construction is suitable for pipeline Complementary measurement and update. Base on the principal, the paper designed a digital 3D underground pipeline database in Yanjiao city.5) Automatic modeling of 3D underground pipelines. The paper studied the present technology of 3D visualization, and make the 3D modeling of the underground pipe network according to the attribute data of the two dimensional pipeline through C# and Direct X 3D graphics library in from Yanjiao project example.6) In this paper, the object-oriented language C # and Arc GIS Server services platform technology are used in the development of underground 3D pipeline management information system, to achieve the above and below ground underground pipe network integrated browsing, information inquiry, pipeline statistical and spatial analysis and other functions, also achieve digital Yanjiao scientific management network database, and provides professional information retrieval, positioning, analysis aided design and management capabilities for helping leader’s decision-making.
