Urban underground pipeline is a key element in the construction of urban infrastructure, it is a carrier for energy transfer and a good condition provider in the city development. It aims at the underground pipeline detection, surveying and mapping, and data storage mainly with the help of physical geography, modern surveying and computer, and needs the participation of several related departments, such as planning, construction, financial sector.it is very important to carry out a comprehensive underground pipeline exploration and analysis its current development situation comprehensively, which is the need not only for the municipal planning and management department, but also for the disaster preventation and reduction, and the sudden accidents coping. Combined with characteristics and flow in underground pipeline detection, this paper gives summary and analysis on the technology and method in underground pipeline visualization, and exploration deeply in quality control through literature review, theory analysis and project example.This paper can be divided into six sections, the introduction, exploration and measurement of underground pipeline, result outputs, map plotting, quality control and the summary and suggestion.The first section is the background of the selected topics, which introduces the state of the art of underground pipeline exploration home and abroad; The second one put forward a new method for underground pipelines detection based on multiple methods integrations. The third section introduces the technology of the underground pipelines detection. The followed section details the designing of the database structure, which is used to describe the results of the underground pipelines detection, and the map complies and creation of the underground pipelines. The fifth section describes how to realize the quality control based on the projects summary. The last section gives the achievements and expectation.
