The paper studied the basic contents of underground pipeline census and the VBA AutoCAD graphics database management technology. The study of underground pipeline census content:collection existing information of underground pipeline and adjustable draw status chart,on-the-spot investigation underground pipeline,probe underground pipeline,survey underground pipeline,processing underground pipeline data and establishing the computer data file,compiling underground pipeline map,checking and acceptance the underground pipeline census results and archiving. On the basic, the paper analyzed the underground pipeline information management methods, used VBA AutoCAD graphics database management technology design a system which can achieve AutoCAD spatial data and attribute data access and operation by ADO object model and realized AutoCAD graphical information to external Access database,update Access database from AutoCAD.
