The Wireless Channel Simulation Research Of The Tactical Communication On Land

The land tactical communication is the most important means of communication used by ground forces during the war, at the same time it is an important part of military communication. The method of wireless communication is widely used in modern tactical communication network, the radio channel is the most basic part of a wireless communication system, channel modeling and simulation has a very important significance for the study of the wireless communication system. Article has analyzing the designed model experiment for many times, and constantly improve it, at last design a channel model which is conforms to the tactical communications network.From the point of the mechanisms and characteristics of radio wave propagation, the article studied several common radio propagation models, such as free space model, Longley_rice model and Hata model, and also parameters about channel description. Except that, it also discussed the influence brought by propagation model and terrain while reception unit receiving the signal, within the same network model. Because wireless communication is not so predictable as wired communication, and there being complicated factors, including the natural environment and the communication device. Topography, rivers cover, forest cover, mountain shelter, the curvature of the earth and other factors, these factors are belong to the natural environment; while communication device includes a transmitter/receiver position relative to the ground or subnet height, directional antenna, the transmission loss in the process, the operating frequency, radio transmitter power and other factors. Above factors will affect the normal transmission in complex battlefield enviroment of wireless signal, causing the failure of wireless communication devices, increasing the likelihood of war suffered significant losses. Exploiting the network simulation software OPNET, using simulation method, we can obtain the channel characteristics of wireless communication in a variety of complex terrains in advance, fully preparing for wartime.
