In recent years, China’s implementation of green building development has intensified. on January 1,2013,State Council issued "on the transponder of green building program notification from Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Construction" (State Council issued [2013] No.1), which clearly means the new initiatives to promote economic development of green building. However, previous studies of green building in China stays at the technical level, inadequate reserches its cost-benefit constitution, as well as to promote the economic optimization design, lack of sufficient data to support the cost-benefit of the policy. Thus, the research and discussion of the relationship between cost-benefit and green building optimization design, not only has theoretical value, but also a positive practical significance.Aiming at office buildings in China, and based on the definition of concepts, the method of design optimization, extensive literature survey, case studies and field trip. The paper combined with the theory and results of our outstanding green office buildings in recent years, through From the perspective of social and economic resource allocation, multi-disciplinary, comprehensive explored the issue of the cost-benefit composition in green office buildings design, attempts to optimize the design through the appropriate use of quantitative analysis methods to guide green building. Combining with last three representative green office buildings in China-the headquarters of China Merchants Property Development Company (CMPD) in Shenzhen Nanhai, a new office building owned by Suzhou Institute of Architectural Design (SIAD), and Nanjing Su Yuan research and develop building. Last but not the least, summarized the design optimization strategies from the view of cost-benefit of green office building. In addition, taking the author’s one design competition practice, Haici hospital composite building of Qingdao, for example, to complement the discussion. The conclusion concerning of a balance among benefits may be helpful to optimized design of green office buildings in China. The paper falls into five chapters with 10400 characters,82 figures and 37 tables.Chapter 1:Introduction. The chapter introduces the background and significance of the study, defines the key concepts, proposes the research framework, and makes a review of related research at home and abroad.Chapter 2:Cost-benefit of green office building design. Analysing the costs and benefits composition of green office building design, the cost that different subjects have to take and the benefits that they may be obtained, and as a theoretical basis to establish the cost-benefit analysis model efficiency, provide a quantitative basis for the subsequent design study.Chapter 3:Case study of green office buildings optimal design considered the cost-benefit theory. This chapter interpreted the last three representative green office building in China-the headquarters of China Merchants Property Development Company(CMPD) in Shenzhen Nanhai,a new office building owned by Suzhou Institute of Architectural Design(SIAD), and Nanjing Su Yuan research and develop building. Sort through their green design strategies, combined with cost and benefit analysis of the indicators to prove the economy of office buildings green optimize design with examples.Chapter 4:Optimal design strategy of green office buildings considered the cost-benefit theory. On the basis of the previous chapter, focus on the status and problems of green office buildings design contemporary, to study the optimize design strategy of green office buildings under the guidance of cost-benefit from the aspects such as land conservation and outdoor environment, energy conservation and energy use, water conservation and water resource utilization, materials conservation and material use, indoor environmental quality, and operational management, to complete the research process step by step.Chapter 5:Conclusion. The chapter draws a comprehensive conclusion of the text, proposes innovative points, and prospects for follow-up studies.
