Research On Equipment Maintenance Oriented Spare Parts Inventory Control

With the rapid development of economy, manufactural enterprises were more and more enthusiastic for automatic production, binging about more and more reliance for equipment, more and more stringent management requirement for machine. Enterprises have to reserve sufficient equipment maintenance spare parts to immediately service for high running equipment maintenance and old parts replacement. However, spare parts inventory is not only to meet the demand of equipment maintenance and ensure production line running smoothly, also need to save inventory cost and reduce inventory quantity. Therefore, research of inventory control for equipment maintenance spare parts has become the important direction for many scholars and entrepreneurs.This paper takes B company engine assembly production line equipment maintenance spare parts as the research object. Firstly, spare parts were divided into deterministic consumable and stochastic consumable by history demand frequency based on 80/20 principle. Poisson distribution method is used to predict demand of stochastic consumable spare parts, and solve the demand probability for each demand. With(s,S) ordering strategy, an optimal stochastic inventory control model was established with the goal of minimum total cost and contentment of certain service level, and applied Markov state transition probability matrix with programing calculation to solve the best order point and maximum inventory.Secondly, take engine assembly production line assembly section equipment maintenance spare parts as example, solve the best order time and maximum inventory for some parts, and compare with the original total inventory cost. This example was presented the effectiveness of reducing the inventory under contentment of certain service level.Finally, combine with equipment maintenance model, improve equipment maintenance spare parts inventory control management model and inventory management processes, and put forward the improved equipment maintenance spare parts management requirements. This is the foundation of systematic operation for spare parts inventory control and promotion to B Company’s other spare parts management department in the future.
