Investigation On The Humanized Design Of Public Space In Large General Hospitals

In nowadays society, with the fast development of the world economy, Medical models, technological level and medical and healthcare system have been under various reforms, which have influenced the functional zoning, streamline organization,spatial pattern and other aspects of hospital design. With the background of the era of the bio-psycho- social medical model and the patient-centered medical concept,people have paid more and more attention to the humanized design of public space in hospitals, and have brought up higher and higher updated demands to the hospitals.This essay is focused on the relevant architectural and psychological questions.With the questions of the humanized design of public space in large general hospitals as the research object and with human behaviors and needs as the starting point, this essay investigated the humanized design of public space in hospitals, summarized the advanced design concepts of international and domestic large general hospitals,analyzed the behavioral models and psychological needs of doctors, patients and their families, the functional zoning, streamline organization and public spaces of hospitals,investigated the various influencing factors of the humanized public space in hospitals,the challenges in hospital design in the changes of the times, the predictions of the developmental trends of the humanized public space in hospitals, the new changes of public space in hospitals brought by the transition of medical models, as well as the demands on the public space based on the behaviors and needs of the users of hospitals. The essay also explored the new architectural ideas and design concepts to help with the humanized design of public space that can better satisfy the needs in present-day society, and brought up new questions and solutions concerned the humanized design of public space in hospitals nowadays.Combined with the field investigation of my own social practices in the Eastern Branch and the Headquarters of Qingdao Municipal Hospital, this essay researched the new models of the humanized design of public space in large general hospitals,and analyzed the new humanized design and the improved medical service efficiency brought by these changes. This essay explored new ideas on the humanized design ofpublic space in hospitals by investigating questions and problems of the effects of the humanized facilities that happened during the time of the research.
