High-speed rail contact wire is under high voltage, high current, high speed friction and large suspension tension during use. At present, there are three main problems in the high speed railway contact wire material:the contradiction between high strength and high conductivity, such as in pure Cu and Cu-Mg etc. wires; the contradiction between high performance and low cost, such as in Cu-Cr-Zr wire; the contradiction between high speed and light weight, such as in Cu-Sn wire. Otherwise, the high strength, high conductivity and low weight contact wires become one of the research focuses in the area of High-speed rail contact wire.Based on the science and technology research and development projects (2014J013-A) of China Railways Company, the paper combined finite element simulation and experimental study, finished the carbon fiber reinforced copper matrix (Cf/Cu) of composite material contact wire, using carbon fiber reinforced core to improve the mechanical properties of the wire and reduce the weight and cost of the wire, and keep the excellent electrical conductivity, to insure high strength, high conductivity and low weight of the contact wire. The key research contents and results are as follows:(1) Based on Ansys and the real service conditions of the wire, the author completed the carbon fiber reinforced core by force analysis and structural design, and calculated the reinforced core diameter and proportion according to the given carbon fiber types;(2) Based on Qform simulation analysis of extrusion technology, discussed the effect of the extrusion wheel rotational speed, the number of extrusion wheels, the number of feeding effect holes, die preheating temperature of Cf/Cu composite material on conductor forming quality, finally determined the reasonable process parameters.(3) The paper put forward the producing process of Cf/Cu composite wire, that is lead casting double stranded-continuous extrusion drawing forming, focused on the analysis of the effect of double-stranded and continuous-extrusion on compound contact wire, whose result is that, carbon fiber damage degree, uniform tension, eccentricity, extrusion wheel speed and feed hole quantity affect the comprehensive performance of the wire most.Insuring the high performance, Cf/Cu wire can achieve low-weight, reduce manufacturing cost, realize the unity of high strength and high conductivity, high performance and low cost, high speed and lightweight, which has an important value and significance to the new generation of high speed railway contact wire.
