Electric vehicles which saves energy and is environmentally friendly,is being focused on widely in the world for the reason of energy shortage and climate change.Electric vehicles using electricity to replace fossil fuels such as oil as power is identified as the only long-term solution in future traffic.Pb-GF(Lead-Glass Fiber)composite wire not only can be used in electric vehicles(EVS)and hybrid electric vehicles(HEVs)power grid plate but also can be used in other field such as radium resistance materials and sound reduction materials because of its high tensile strength,excellent electrical conductivity and good corrosion resistance.Pb-GF composite wire is a typical composite wire reinforced by continuous bristle fiber with metal based,but,at present,the manufacturing technology of this material is not yet fully mature and it is still in the stage of continuous improvement.In this paper the lateral extrusion technology of Pb-GF has been carefully studied in the base of the studying on the coating extrusion technology and theory of plastic material to plastic material,and make some optimization of the selected mould.In the process of studying the side way extrusion method of Pb-GF,this paper firstly studies the plan of the Pb-GF composite wire which is made through continuous extrusion and cladding,then introduces features of the chosen extrusion cladding mold,the extrusion parameters is determined,the common extrusion products' defects and the fracture criterion of wire material also made simple introduction.The numerical simulation of Pb-GF side way extrusion process has been done by the DEFORM-3D software.The optimal length of forming zone is found through the finite element numerical simulation;An innovative floating core cladding extrusion model is set up;suggest hypothesis to solve the problem of brittle core material calculated difficultly in Deform software;analysis the force of core wire and extrusion force affected by different die gap and extrusion velocity;optimize the selected mold of in-going mold core and out-going mold core.In the part of in-going mold core optimization,the fillet and die angle are included;In the part of out-going mold core optimization,the fillet and sizingbond length are included.With the effective stress of core wire and extrusion force as optimization index,the optimization aims to reduce the effective stress and extrusion force in the process of cladding extrusion.
