Intelligent substation is an important part of the smart grid,it represents the future of power intelligent. Intelligent substation has three main features:"intelligent primary equipment, networked secondary equipment and meeting the IEC61850 standard".The information is digital,the delivery of information is networked,the communication has the same standard,that means intelligent substation is a platform where the devices and functions have the same standard. Meanwhile,with the increasing complexity of the substation structure, and the gradually increasing demand of reliability, the traditional substation protection can not adapt to the complex environment, which requires new ideas to solve that problem.This dissertation introduce the Multi-Agent theory, analyze the structure of various types of Agents and Agent system organization, cooperation strategy and communication method between Agents, combined with distributed artificial intelligence research, intelligent substation construction, communications, and substation-area backup protection, actively explore new methods of intelligent substation, propose Multi-Agent based substation-area backup protectionin intelligent substation.Among them,the core issues is the cooperation of Agent based protection. The cooperation enhance the protection of the station domain accuracy and reliability.The dissertation puts forward station-area back-up protection of smart substation o n multi-agent, after studying the structure and communication of smart substation and c ombining multi-agent technology, smart substation theory and station-area back-up prot ection theory together. Reference to the concept of logic device and logic node in IEC61 850, it constructs Agent based on logic node. It classifies the substation protection elem ents as Agent or Agent group, designs rules for mutual cooperation between the station-area back-up protection Agent, and analyzes the behavior in different failure scenarios, s uch as breaker failure, CT failure and communication failure.Based on the concept of Multi-Agent and intelligent substation,the paper adopts JADE to implement the Multi-Agent based station-area protection simulation platform, test different failure scenarioes, verify the feasibility of the theory.
