Research On Light-smart Home Products Design

In facts, we must admit that two-thirds of the time in our life is spent at home. The relevant technologies of smart home have been more and more mature, which result in a lot of new changes in our home. The more people pay attention to smart home market, the more smart home products bought by consumers. People not only want to make home more comfortable, but also hope it become more high-tech.Compared with the traditional home products, smart home products have quite different features. Most smart home products have more complicated structures and functions. The craft of interaction design must be demonstrated great power to enhance the quality of the user’s experience. The most important thing is, it is necessary that the hardware and software require to cooperate with each other. Indeed, high technology brings great development to home product. However, because the new technologies in smart home product are not perfect, a large numbers of problem come out when consumer using them. Some manufacturer eager to make more money, so that even ignore the real need from consumer. They design some products that such a person could not actually use. Moreover, some designer overused intelligent technology, which makes home products become more and more complicated when people using them. When it comes to the user experience, it is important that smart home product need excellent user experience and interface design. Consumers will feel unfamiliar if smart home products have terrible user experience. What’s more, people may fell stressed and disappointment to all the smart home products.This paper will analyze the current situation and discover some shortage of smart home products in a depth perspective. Exposing the technology of smart home products and how to design them in a good way. In this paper, the writer will come up with the idea of light-smart design according to the analysis. Light smart is a design concept that means a transitional period to real smart technology. It is hope that people will feel easier to accept the new technology and using them. In the fourth section of this paper, I summarize the features and the design approach of light-smart home product. Meanwhile, a large numbers of examples of famous smart home products are using to analyze and learn the advantages of their design. By the end of the paper, based on the concept of this paper, a smart home products named Smart-Sharer is designed as the author’s graduation design work.
