With the growing urban economy and population, urban water supply shortage, water quality deterioration and pipe network lag issues have become increasingly prominent, which seriously restricted the city’s construction and development. The existing water supply sources and water supply facilities cannot meet the requirements of urban water demand in Jixi City. Implementation of the project about Chaoyang water purification plant and "Four Areas" water transport and distribution in Jixi City has great significance in addressing the water supply shortage and water quality improvement.The project discussed site selection, water influent and effluent quality, water treatment capacity and water process design of Chaoyang water purification plant, considering water source and waterworks planning and urban construction planning in Jixi City. The water treatment capacity of Chaoyang water purification plant in Jixi City is designed as short-term 15 万 m3/d and long-term 20 万 m3/d. Water effluent quality is in line with national "drinking water health standards"(GB5749-2006) in China. Conventional water treatment process in Chaoyang water purification plant combines mechanical mixing tank, folded-plate flocculation tank, lateral flow inclined plate sedimentation tank and V filter. In advanced treatment process, ozone-activated carbon technique is adopted to solve the problem of possible excessive ammonia nitrogen. Sludge treatment process combines "concentrating + modifying + dewatering". In addition, the size and operating parameter of water and sludge treatment structures are determined according to the design scale of waterworks.Water supply system, water transport and distribution pipe network system and new booster pump station is designed, combined with water purification plant design.
