Driven by the increasing of national economy in our country, China’s highway bridges and other transportation infrastructure construction is also in rapid development. In the eastern coastal and Western Mountainous Areas, many large bridges have been built, which provide convenience for the general public in recent year. With the passage of the bridge service life and the increase of traffic load, Some of the bridges appeared the potential danger, once this danger occurs, it will cause great harm to the country and the people. Therefore, the relevant departments to put forward the bridge health monitoring, hoping to monitor the health status of the bridge by monitoring some of the relevant data of the bridge, which are being used to ensure the economic benefits of the bridge to be effectively play. Bridge health monitoring system has developed rapidly in recent years, the monitoring method has become very diverse, but because their’s shortcomings, the monitoring method cannot be extended in large range. In this paper, a new method, which can accurately monitor the strain and crack of the bridge, is proposed based on the monitoring of strain gauge in the bridge health monitoring. hoping to provide a reference for the bridge monitoring field.This article starts from the following several aspects:1.This paper introduces the background of the bridge health monitoring method, puts forward the important significance of the structural surface strain and crack monitoring, and the commonly used methods of surface monitoring, and then leads to the research content of this paper.2. Explain the processing and manufacture of conductive coating, conductive principle, the research status of the material research.3. Study on the basic characteristics of the conductive film. The test mainly includes the change law of the resistance of the conductive film with temperature, the change of the resistance of the conductive film and the relationship between the different crack direction and so on.4. The conductive film and the solar power system, data acquisition system, datatransmission system are applied to the actual bridge combination, which is amed to verify the possibility of using the material in practical engineering.Through indoor and outdoor of conductive film two different ways of experiment, it is found that the conductive film can meet for real-time monitoring of the bridge strain and crack,looking forward to the method to can play a larger role in bridge health monitoring.
