Research On Rural Architecture Renewal

Urban culture and values have kept impacting on traditional rural society since fast rural development in modern China. Though as one of the most important parts of rural construction, rural architectural renewal represents modern technology and ideas, it exists blindness under high persuasion of productivity effect and economic interests. It leads to two modes of rural renewal: down-top urbanized buildings build by villagers and top-down unitized buildings built by local government. Buildings of these two modes together with traditional rural buildings and simplified buildings popularized since new China have created a collage of rural jungle.This thesis tries to explore methods of rural architectural renewal in the context of current rural jungle through comprehensive analysis and summary of domestic and foreign theories and practices, and take Leli Village as a typical example for a further discussion.
