Chain transmission has a wide range of applications in industry and life, but because of its motion characteristics, polygon effect, it will happen wear elongation of the chain in use.In order to guarantee the normal operation of the chain, it needs tensioning device to tension chain, the development of the tensioning device is mainly in the direction of the automation,the existing chain automatic tensioning device, All is by changing the tension wheel physical location to achieve tensioning, at the same time also with other devices, such as supporting device. The existing tensioning device has its limitations in some parts in a limited working environment. Combined the existing automatic tensioning device structure, this paper proposes a new structure of tension wheel, No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket,obtain the structural parameters according to the theoretical analysis, then simulation analysis, the research results open up a new train of thought for the automation design of chain tensioning.The design idea of No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket, different with the existing automatic tensioning device research thought, after the study of lessons and the theoretical knowledge which the design of structure needs, combined with the requirements of design and engineering practical experience, the main contents of this paper are as follows:1、Introduces the working principle of the No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket,the new structure of the sprocket from the working principle, and draws the conclusion that the core of the design is the structural design of the elastic element which realizes the tension function.2、Introduces in detail the design process of No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket, according to the size relationship between the structures which are needed to meet,combined with existing chain transmission parts, determine its structure parameters,construct the mechanical model of tensioning elastic element, determine its structure parameters in order to satisfy the functional requirements.3 、 According to the relevant structure parameters of the No-Supporting AutomaticTension Sprocket, simulation analysis of the sprocket by using simulation software. First,motion simulation by Recur Dyn, set the system parameters, and then analyse the movement of the No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket, explore the force situation of the sprocket components in low speed, the corresponding stress curve is obtained. Analyse the stress of the No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket by using ANSYS, and found the maximum stress in each component of the No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket, the key component is the spring.The research results provides a method to realize the no-supporting automatic tension in the transmission of chain, gives the design theory and the accurate and reliable analysis method of no-supporting automatic tension, so it can do further and deeper research to achieve series and systematic design of No-Supporting Automatic Tension Sprocket. It is beneficial to improve our country the level of research and development of no-supporting automatic tension in the chain transmission, accelerates the speed of development, simplify the chain transmission device weight, reduce labor costs, tension timely, moderate. The results of research can provide some help to the related technology research and development, open a new road to realize the miniaturization, miniaturization and automation of chain drive, which has a far-reaching significance.
