| With the large scale application of smart substation based on IEC61850 in the State Grid Corporation, the health states of all intelligent electronic devices(IED),including merging unit, protection devices, automation devices, network communication equipment,substation supervisory system and other substation secondary equipment, as well as the substation environment impact on above devices,will be the keys to the reliable operation of the substation. Substation operation and maintenance work face unprecedentedchallenges. According to Power Grid Corporation proposal, a technology, which provides analysis and evaluation of operating conditions of smart substation secondary equipment and make early warning & fault location of equipment failure, is researched, developed and applied in real system.According to the technical characteristics that smart substation secondary system function is strongly dependent on the communication process, this research team has developeda method, which can reflect the operating status of secondary intelligent equipment based on the communication process, analyzes the health status of devices and implements fault location, and has proposed to implement this method by building an application system consisting of plant station subsystems deployed in smart substation and main station subsystem deployed in grid dispatching side.Accurate network data collection, mass data storage and real-time analysis are prerequisites for the realization of this system. Achievement of maintenance free system, visualization of substation secondary circuit, digitization of intelligent electronic devices(IED) assessment strategies and specialization of health model, are the key points of this technology.Through research development and test deployment, the feasibility of abovetechnical routeis demonstrated and well received by grid operation and maintenance personnel. Through the application of this technology, the summary of assessment policy and device health model can be a gradual process, whichconstantly needs to be improved and supplemented. In addition, if intelligence matching function for overhaulpolicy can be added, this system will bring greater help to production practices.The development result of research work has been successfully tested in Zhejiang Power Grid Corporation. A number of patents and ministerial-level identification have been obtained. |
