Station is an important part of Urban Rail Transit (URT), where the passengers can get the transport services. The capacity of station is correlated of the capacity of pedestrian facilities, layout and coordination. Based on the condition of the managed station, the utilization efficiency of pedestrian facilities is always different even though the scale of pedestrian facilities at the same level. This paper was based on the DEA to establish the evaluation method, which was from the view of inputs & outputs. The main results of the paper as follows:(1) Based on the Cluster Analysis, the stations of Urban Rail Transit were classified. Consider of the utilization efficiency of pedestrian facilities and the charaters of passenger volumn, the 226 stations of Beijing’ URT has been classified into 5 types.(2) The evaluation indicator system of utilization efficiency of pedestrian facilities has been established.The efficiency meant the relation of the input and the outcome in economics, based on this view, the theme could be translated to evaluation of the relationship between the input of pedestrian facilities and the output of passenger’s transportation in this paper. In terms of the input, the acreage of platform, the width of stair, the number of elevator and the width of passageway were choosen as the indicators of transfer flow; the number of automatic fare gate, the width of stair, the number of elevators and the acreage of platform were choosen as the indicators of arrival & departure flow;In terms of output, the transfer passenger volum during peak hour of weekday & weekend, flat hour of weekday and the per-day were choosen as indicators of transfer flow; the arrival & departure passenger volum during peak hour of weekday & weekend, flat hour of weekday, and the per-day were choosen as the indicators of arrival & departure flow.(3) The evaluation model has been provided based on the DEA method. The model was used for calculating the efficiencies and make the ranking based on the CCR first, Then, based on the statistics of slacks, calculated the specific utilization efficiency of each pedestrian facility of the stations which were not reach 100%.(4) The efficiencies of 13 stations in Beijing have been evaluated by the method which be established in this paper. The outcome shows that, as for the transfer flow, the stations of typeⅠand type Ⅱ kept the high efficiencies,70% above in general; In terms of arrival & departure flow, the stations of type Ⅰ and type Ⅲ were pretty high efficiencies with 100%; the stations of type Ⅳ kept inefficiency in general, for example, the efficiencies of Shi Li Pu station were 85.6% and 80.0% for the arrival & departure flow, and An Ding Men station were 44.0% and 53.5%; the stations of type V have the efficiencies with wide range, although the Qian Men station reached 100% for both arrival & departure flow, the arrival flow of Bei Hai Bei station was 100% and the departure flow was 77.0%, the Nong Zhan Guan station only reached 21.0% and 22.5%. The model which be established in this paper can evaluate the utilization efficiencies of pedestrian facilities, in favor of the URT’s evaluation work and improve the utiliazation efficiency of resource during different phases.
