With the background of China’135’plan vigorously promote of the development of steel structure residential, this research is about basic kitchen and sanitation module series design and optimization of steel structure set residential building based on modularity theory.Firstly according to the current situation of the development of steel structure residential building in China, analyzing the problem of steel structure residence, and reviewing the development of modularity theory in residential design,aims to combine the modularity design method and design of steel structure dwelling together. Through induction of steel structure residential structure system and performance requirements, clarify the constraints of the overall kitchen and sanitation modules and it’s optimization design. The main part of the thesis according to the kitchen space behavior model combined with the decomposition of each function module. The kitchen module design through the console and storage space compared with space, form the basic kitchen size optimization module series. According to the bathroom layout types form a series of two modules, the number of different functional sub module. At the same time, put forward suggestions for application of kitchen module and steel structure housing combination.Although the basic kitchen and sanitation module area is small, it is the most frequently and most complex space in steel structure residential building. The kitchen and sanitation modular design is also an important field to promote the development of steel structure residential industry. This papers discuss the relation of the kitchen and sanitation modules of standardized, modularized in steel structure residential with the development of residential industrial modernization, deepen explore the design method in the use of modular theory of the kitchen and sanitation of steel structure residential, contribute to the integrated, standardized, modular, universal and precise design of kitchen and sanitation,and achieved the flexible and diverse design of kitchen and sanitation modules of steel structure residential.
