In recent years, with the further implementation of The Belt and Road, the railway freight trade between Europe and China presents a trend of growth spurt. More and more regular trains from China to Europe begin to run and the operating frequency is increasing. For example, the first half of 2015, there are 237 regular trains from China to Europe and the total number of containers reaches 20194 TEU. Compared with the same period last year, increased by 112%. This also reflects the Belt and Road plays an important role in driving the cross-border railway transportation. At present, the region railway transportation route of Bulgaria to Poland which belongs to the Belt and Road has not yet been determined. With the continued development of the Belt and Road, there must be some cross-border railway freight trade between this region and China. How to choose the best railway transportation scheme has become an important problem to be solved.Railway network of Bulgaria to Poland is quite complex and rail track width between the different countries is not the same. Therefore, in order to study the regional railway transportation scheme, actual operating conditions of transshipment station must be considered. Due to the regional railway infrastructure equipment is relatively backward, the operations of transshipment and customs clearance often take too long time in some transshipment stations which will affect the whole transport time and reduce the effectiveness of cross-border transportation. Aimed at this regional railway transportation problem, I have read a large number of related literature and found that the current researches on the regional railway transportation scheme are still lacking. Capacity analysis of transshipment stations need to be further improved and perfected. Around these issues, this paper mainly studied the following researches:Firstly, through the analysis of this regional railway network, including current situation of this regional railway transportation and transshipment stations, the paper uses transshipment time to reflect transshipment capacity and studies the operation ability of transshipment stations in this region;Secondly, this paper uses Anylogic software to build Brest transshipment station simulation model to simulate the operation process of container train based on queuing system; Thirdly, this paper carries simulation experiment using the data of Brest Transshipment Station data. Through the experiment, the paper get daily maximum amount of operation, the mean transshipment time and the mean sojourn time of Brest Transshipment Station; Finally, the paper builds mathematical models of railway transportation scheme in three different situations, uses Lingo Software to solve these mathematical models and compares optimal railway transportation schemes under different conditions.
