Study On The Coordinated Development Of Regional Economy And Railway Transportation Along The Belt And Road

The Belt and Road Initiative is aimed at promoting sustainable economic development among countries along the line.Railways play an important role among countries along the line and within countries because of their low energy consumption and large capacity.However,the railway is also under pressure from large investments,large land occupations and long periods of time,and cannot be developed without restrictions.The development of railways transportation in various countries along the line is seriously uneven,scientifically and objectively evaluating the coordination degree between railway transportation and regional economy along the line,and identifying the influencing factors of coordination degree,which will help to better realize the coordinated development of railway transportation and regional economy and realize the sustainable development of regional economy based on the support of railway transportation along the line.In this context,this paper has carried out the following research:(1)Based on the actual development of the countries along the route,the railway transportation development level index system(including infrastructure and operation)and the regional economic development level indicator system(including economic scale and economic vitality)were constructed,the development level of regional economy and railway transportation were calculated by the entropy weight method.(2)Constructing the coupling-coordination model of railway transportation and regional economy and measure the coordination degree of the two,and further analyze the spatial characteristics of the coordination degree.The results show that only 25% of countries along the line have achieved coordinated development of railway transportation and regional economy,and these countries are concentrated in Central and Eastern European countries.The coordination degrees along the line have the spatial clustering characteristics.(3)Using the spatial correlation test to analyze the spatial correlation of coordination degrees between,and construct a spatial measurement model to empirically analyze the influencing factors of the coordination degree.The results show that the coordination degree between railway transportation and regional economy in countries along the line has a spillover effect in space.The economic scale,export trade,populat ion density and the coordination degree of neighboring countries have a significant positive impact on the coordination degree of the country.Finally,based on the research results,this paper puts forward the proposal of exerting economic promotion,continuing to expand foreign trade and exerting spatial spillover effects to realize the coordinated development of railway transportation and regional economy,and to achieve the relatively balanced development of regional economy and railway transportation and it is of great significance to achieve the sustainable development in countries along the line.
