With the rapid development of China’s economy and society, the contradiction of energy shortage and environmental deterioration have become increasingly prominent, Nuclear power industry, as clean energy, ushered in an unprecedented development opportunities. People pay more and more attention to the safety of nuclear radiation, the development of a portable gamma spectrometer has a very important and practical significance, which is mainly used for environmental dose rate monitoring, nuclear accident emergency, radionuclide identification, uranium exploration, building materials radioactivity monitoring.In recent years, the application of y spectrometer is becoming more and more wide, which has become a hot isuue in the world research. Based on the rapid development of electronic technology, the performance of key components ADC is greatly improved. Spectrometer developed from traditional analog to more flexible digital type, meanwhile, toward the evolving direction of intelligent, integrated, high performance, low power consumption, small size, light weight, so as better to meet in the wild and the actual requirements of nuclear emergency measurements. According to y energy spectrum measurement principle, this thesis select STM32(based on ARM Cortex-M3 core) as microprocessor, use sensitive NaI as detector, design digital multi-channel analyzer, and integrate the functions of GPS (Global Positioning System) positioning, wireless data transmission, data storage, charging management and temperature compensation, to achieve portable digital multifunctional gamma spectrometer design. After hardware debugging and software programming, carry out the combine test to ensure that functional meet the requirements. After the completion of the whole assembly, the calibration and verification experiment are needed to test machine performance. Finally, the development process and debugging results are summarized.The author’s main work and innovation are as follows:1) In the structure, the NaI (T1) detector is used to realize the integration of the probe and the host.2) In the function, except the basic measure function of gamma spectrometer, there are optional GPS positioning and wireless data transmission function, so that the radiation measurement data can be combined with geographic information, meanwhile measurement data can be real-time transmitted through wireless module. This way has more practical significance.3) In the performance, the energy resolution is better than 12%; the whole power consumption less than 600mW4) In the interface, the remote wireless data transmission is achieved between the central computer and spectrometer, which is flexible and has a wider range of coverage, with the characteristics of flexible networking and wide coverage.In this thesis, a low power portable gamma spectrometer is designed and implemented. The signal amplitude information is acquired so as to carry out radionuclide identification and further quantitative analysis of dose. Spectrometer can be widely used in the nuclear related fields, and can meet the requirements of both military and civilian.
