Full-size wood composite panels refer to the finished wood composite panels that are the most common in production and sale at home and abroad, and its standard size is 2.44×1.22m. Currently, domestic manufacturers of wood composite panels have both cut a large panel into small specimens. Subsequently, destructive test of small specimens is performed to evaluate the mechanical performance of wood composite panels. This method not only makes a greatly waste of wood composite panels, but also has low detection efficiency. Moreover, it has limited application in sampling inspection. Nondestructive evaluation technique of full-size wood composite panels based on vibration principle can solve the current problems effectively.In this paper, the measurement and control system, consisting of hardware and software, for nondestructive testing prototype is designed on the basis of pre-existing mechanical structure of nondestructive testing prototype of the full-size wood composite panels. It can achieve automatic movement and mechanical traits evaluation of full-size wood composite panels. The main work of this paper includes the following four parts.Firstly, multi-mode automatic handling system of full-size wood composite panels is designed by analyzing the demand for motion control system of nondestructive testing prototype to achieve full-automatic handling.Secondly, testing system of prototype is designed by analyzing the demand for nondestructive testing system to measure the elastic modulus, storage modulus, loss modulus, mass, thickness, density of the full-size wood composite panels intelligently.Thirdly, communication module of control system incorporated into the motion control and testing systems of detection prototype is designed to coordinate the automatic movement and mechanical performance NDE of full-size wood composite panels.Finally, on-line measurements of thickness, weight, mechanical properties nondestructive evaluation and the efficiency of testing were carried out based on measurement target of the detection prototype to identify the reliability, availability and high efficiency of testing prototype.After the detection prototype debugging and testing, the results show that the detection and control system apply for detection prototype achieves the requirements of the project team.
