Application Of Regional Culture In Urban Landscape Design

Nowadays, because of the global economic integration, cities are developing by leaps and bounds, meantime the inherent contradictions have become increasingly obvious. The rapidly development of new urban pattern in new time, making it a mainstream of cities to take an international style. While with internationalize and integration, convergence cannot be avoided so regional cultural heritage and development had to be considered during the process of urban landscape design and planning.With the rapid development of China’s society and economy, under the policy of "to promote urbanization, improving the quality of urbanization" at the eighteenth congress of the Chinese Communist Party, good planning and construction of urban landscape will become the development direction of China’s next and priorities. However, both in the European and American countries or China’s current urban construction are there to blindly follow the trend, indiscriminate demolition of unauthorized construction, no respect for nature, without regard to local culture, the simple pursuit of performance and appearance in the form of other issues, it is a direct result of these problems "one side thousand cities phenomenon is getting worse. This thesis is under this international context and situation of China’s development, from the perspective of landscape design, first to define the concept of local culture and landscape design, after finishing the theoretical concepts and thinking, with home and abroad representative examples of geographical and cultural landscape analysis and expand the demonstration. Systematic analyze and research of urban design methods for refining and local culture is to show the city’s unique local culture and language through science, art and design techniques, and to let the local culture in the construction of urban landscape continues, making the city more features.Finally, the article takes the design of Baotou city’s entrance as an example, through the study of geographical and cultural characteristics of Baotou City and application of this article’s study of concepts and design refinement, combine theory and practice to theory driven practice, enhance this paper’s enablement, and aim to accumulate experience and to conclude lessons for future urban landscape design planning.
