How to ensure running safety is the most concern of the railway transportation in our country. To ensure the reliability of freight operations, riveting technology is widely used in the bogie. The foundation brake rigging on the bogie is assembled by six short tail pull rivet pin as a "joint". Riveting this kind of pull rivet pin without pulled apart or cause drag mark. This method is effective locking anti-theft, with the advantages of high clamping force and shearing resistance, high resistance to corrosion, etc. But there are no significant differences in shape before and after the short tail pull rivet pin riveting, and the operators have to do the other parts of the assembly work when installing pull rivet pin. So it often cause serious security hidden danger in practical application such as riveting the wrong position and leakage riveting. Therefore need a new riveting equipment to automatically detect the riveting quality and the riveting location, without increase operation in production process.In this paper, on the basis of analyzing the riveting technology development, pulling rivet connection technology is mainly introduced in the use of railway truck. By analyzing the riveting quality inspection status at home and abroad, based on the type K6 bogie brake pull rivet connection special rivet gun as the research object. Put forward a new type of intelligent riveting equipment technology solutions by using the computer detection and image recognition technology.New riveting equipment includes new riveter and computer testing system. Through mounting pressure sensor, displacement sensor and industrial camera on the prototype pull rivet gun to timely acquisition in the process of riveting pressure, the displacement signal and image information. Then use computer test system to judge the riveting quality according to the relationship of riveting force and displacement, and determining the position of the rivet through image recognition technology.In the paper, the hardware selection of sensor is analyzed and riveting gun modification work is accomplished. On this basis, this paper expounds the principle of riveting quality judgment and location identification software builds. By using BP neural network recognize the image of five riveting position. Each step used in the image recognition technology is determined by the test, completed the intelligent riveting equipment software development.Finally, test equipment in bogie foundation braking device. The results show that the new riveting equipment can accurately judge the quality and position of the rivet, which can provide an effective technical guarantee for the safety of railway freight cars.
