With the improvement of the service time limit,reliability and anti-corrosion of the modern aircraft,traditional manufacturing technology and equipment are difficult to meet the special stringent quality requirements of aircraft,and there is the urgent need for advanced manufacturing technology and equipment,while automatic drilling and riveting technology and equipment are one of them.The international advanced aviation manufacturing enterprises in the application of riveting technology concluded that the application of automatic drilling and riveting equipment in the aircraft assembly field not merely improves the riveting quality and assembly efficiency of the aircraft,but also reduces the cost of aircraft assembly.With the pervasive application of automatic drilling and riveting technology,many domestic and foreign scholars have done widespread research on the riveting process,but the researche on the automatic drilling and riveting process is relatively less,and the analysis of the riveting is principally focused on the influence of the riveting parameters on the residual stress field distribution and the fatigue life.While it is rarely seen that the research on the interaction between the riveting quality of automatic drilling and riveting equipment and the deformation of the riveting unit.This thesis has conducted the thorough research on the influence of riveting head deformation and riveting angle on riveting quality during the automatic riveting process based on theoretical analysis,numerical simulation and experimental research.Firstly,the relationship between the interference and the residual stress is studied.Through the analysis of the rivet and panel deformation in the riveting process,the relationship between the interference and the residual stress of the riveting is given based on the theory of plastic mechanics,and it is pointed out that the interference is an essential factor that affects the riveting quality.In addition,the relationship between the height of driven rivet head and the interference quantity is studied.It is concluded that the the height of driven rivet head can affect the quality of riveting by influencing the interference.Meanwhile,the deformation of the riveting head is theoretically calculated according to the structure characteristics of the riveting head.Then,with the aid of ABAQUS finite element analysis software,aiming at the automatic drilling and riveting machine of aircraft panel developed by our group,by means of theoretical analysis,numerical simulation and experimental verification,the influence of riveting angle and riveting head deformation on riveting quality in riveting process of automatic drilling and riveting machine is systematically studied,in this paper,the two indexes of judging the riveting quality,the height of driven rivet head and the interference quantity,are mainly selected.Meanwhile,according to the influence of these factors on the riveting quality,the corresponding control measures are obtained to ensure an excellent riveting quality.Lastly,the paper summarizes the contents of the study and points out the problems that can be further studied.Through the research of this article,it provides a theoretical basis and technical support for engineering application of automatic drilling and riveting machine,which provides a reference for the specification of automatic riveting machine technology.
