Feasibility Of Black Start Fossil Fuel Power Plant By Diesel Generator

As modern society is dependent on the power supply excessively, the damage due to wide spread blackout is more and more severe. Restoration of a power system after a major blackout is a very important issue to the security defense of power systems. Reasonable black start schemes are required to restore the power system as soon as possible. Diesel generator unit is chosen as black-start-up power for fossil fired power plant, and type selection for diesel generator unit are studied.Main contributions of this thesis are described as following:1.Here to calculate the black start diesel generators capacity according to the load list, start sequence, key load details etc, with accordance with<Technical rule for designing auxiliary power system of fossil fuel power plants>(DL/T 5153-2014). Then to optimize the black start system basing on the result of the calculation;2 The black start system will endure large impact from the start-up of large auxiliary loads when the large capacity fossil fuel power plants are started. The voltage of auxiliary power system would decline, the black start would fail. To start maximum capacity auxiliary equipment is the most important factor for calculation black start diesel engine capacity. The processes of direct startup asynchronous motor which provide power by the emergency diesel generator set was simulated adopted ETAP;3. The black start test process of unit-2 using diesel engine in Guangxi power plant was recorded. The main operation arrangement of preparation work and black start process was introduced. In the unit DCS extracted the main auxiliary current amplitude in the process of black start test. This paper introduces the problems that need to be paid attention in the daily maintenance of diesel generator sets.
