Due to the inconvenience of traditional wired fault diagnostic and PC calibration, and the long-distance, intelligent, networking of fault diagnostic and calibration system which are needed in the future, This fault diagnostic and calibration system based on Android phone has been developed. It is also an exploration of the direction of the “Internet + Vehicle” in the time of “Internet of Vehicles”.Based on the ECU of diesel engine which is based on the SAE J1939 and CCP as the research object, the software system accomplished several functions, such as collect the data flow and fault code issued by ECU, calibration MAP, etc. Further, the different databases are established refer to different communication protocols, which hope to achieve a general system to satisfy different cars.The main contents and results of this research are listed below:1. A set of special communication protocol have been defined for our own. The system based on Android phone operating system involved with protocols such as protocol of ECU diagnose, protocol of calibration, protocol of Bluetooth. To realize the information interaction, communication stability, A set of special communication protocol have been defined. In the protocol of mobile side, each frame is consist of 12 bytes and is classified into 6 sections; in the protocol of lower computer, each frame is consist of 16 bytes and is classified into 7 sections. Every section regulates all the information of the whole system’s instructions, which ensures the safety and fluency of the entire system.2. The software system was developed for fault diagnostic, calibration and data flow. It was divided into fault diagnostic module, data flow module, calibration module and help module. While the software system was constructing, the interface was obligated in order to add new modules later. The software system choose the multithreaded programming method, which could enhance the flow of the software system and ensure the completeness and accuracy of data information.3. The aim of the plan is to develop a whole set of commercial products. The customer’s screen, which is the most important factor of customer experience, is simple and generous. And it can self-adapt to all kinds of mobile screens. What’s more, many different backgrounds of activities is designed, user can change the background by using the function of “skin change” under HELP.4. The software system have been tested and debugged for several times. Eventually, the system has been adapted by an electronic control company in Hunan province. And the system has been put into market in early of 2015, which fully illustrates the effectiveness of the fault diagnostic and calibration system based on Android system established in this paper.
