The vertical and side wear of the rail is the result of the interaction between the wheel and the rail l.If the wear value exceeds a certain limit,it will be a great threat to the safety of the vehicle.Grinding on the surface of rail head by grinding machine or grinding train is the main method to restrain,eliminate rail surface wear and restore to the original design requirements.It can greatly prolong service life of railway,reduce operating costs and improve passenger comfort. Before rail grinding,track abrasion detection is needed to guide the grinding train to take appropriate grinding method of contour restoration.At present,manual contact detection is the tradition method.Much experience of workers and the very high labor intensity but with the unbelievable low efficiency and accuracy,much high labor intensity,low accuracy and other problems is required in this kind of method. It can not adapt to the the current high-speed rail development. So, the development of a new intelligent detection method is the trend of the Times.In this paper, combined with image processing technology, wireless transmission technology and the development of the Android application, designs a track abrasion detection intelligent terminal application. It designs the software and hardware environment of the whole detection terminal. Three industrial camera interface is described.GigE is selected combined with site environment transport and cost.According to the actual requirements to choose camera, PC, handheld terminal and other equipment.Software of this paper includes the design of image processing software for PC and the application for handheld terminal.The software completes the process design of image processing algorithm of track, including the image smooth, gray level transformation,image segmentation,edge detection and center line extraction,shape matching,and studies the camera calibration algorithm.At the same time this paper studies on camera calibration algorithm,and uses the Zhang camera calibration method for system calibration. Using bluetooth communication technology, this paper develops communication protocol between the PC and Android mobile devices to complete the data transmission between the construction of the channel.According to the agreement,return code or parameter code is analyzed in order to get the state of testing equipment,and thetest data is stored.The function of logging system,bluetooth connectivity with testing equipment, data transmission,analysing data, managing data,display data curves in the coordinate system,access to the GPS,wear value calculation,and other functions are also achieved by the application. The application is designed by API and SDK development,which is provided by the android development platform.The volume of grinding rails is available by testing the track wear value.It can guide the grinding train to take appropriate grinding method of contour restoration.By building a simulation platform in the laboratory, the test on the overall performance of the intelligent terminal is verified.The experimental results show that the intelligent terminal,can accurately measure the rail wear value to provide good parameters for grinding processing,with very high practicability.
