Reinforced concrete rib arch bridge is most widely applied in China’s southwest region in the 1990’s. After 10 years of useage, because of the generally low technical standards of bridge construction, the rapid growth of traffic, and bridge construction quality problems (Especially the bridge built in the late 1980’s to the late 90’s), material and structure natural ageing, and the environment change, the damage of the overweight, overrun vehicles. Many bridges appear to have insufficient bearing capacity and highlight a lot of diseases now. So reinforcement of these bridges is very necessary.This thesis is based on the Jialing River Bridge project of wusheng County of Guang’an City, Sichuan Province. The reinforcement effect of different strengthening methods on reinforced concrete rib arch bridge was mainly studied. The bridge is reinforced by three methods which are structure member strengthening with R.C、add diagonal brace between spandrel column、and turn the ribbed arch to plate arch. Analysis on the mechanics behaviors of main arch ring before and after reinforcement, and draw the corresponding analysis diagram, contrast the strengthening effect of the three strengthening methods. In this thesi, the main job has:(1) Summarized the typical disease types of reinforced concrete ribbed arch bridge, and analyze how it causes.(2)Through the mechanism analysis of common diseases of reinforced concrete rib arch bridge, combining with the existing bridge disease treatment technology at home and abroad, systematically summarized the applicable to common diseases treatment technology of rib arch bridge and corresponding construction measures.(3) Discussed the strengthening principle of bridge structure and calculate method for strengthening.(4)Taken Wusheng county Jialing River Bridge as an example, The reinforcement design scheme was put forward.(5)Discussed the existing reinforced concrete arch bridge reinforcement technology use on Wusheng county Jialing River Bridge. simulate calculation and analysis by using finite element software. Analyzed the reinforcement effect and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of various reinforcement methods, to provide the design basis for the bridge reinforcement design.
