Structure optimization design become more concerned topic by scholars at home and abroad in recent years. Compared with traditional structure design of passivity and repeatability, structure optimization design is a kind of clear goal and active process. It not only contains professional design theory,mathematical optimization design method, and use advanced computer technology to design project feasibility analysis, make the design speed greatly increased, to provide more reliable choice for design. Overall, the development of optimized design make the building safer, more energy efficient, thus causing more and more people’s attention.Frame structures are widely used in the construction industry, and will also keep a good development prospect in the future because its construction is convenient, cost is relatively low, the structure arrangement is flexible. In this context, to find a reasonable method about frame structure, to ensure structural safety, reduce cost, improve material utilization is very necessary.In this paper, the author studies the overall stress analysis under load combination of dead load, live load and earthquake of a six layer reinforced concrete frame structure and size of beam and column as the independent variable structure optimization by using ANSYS software. Optimization with frame structure in the process of stress equilibrium conditions and specification requirements as constraint conditions. Optimization process according to different objective function is divided into two parts. The first part of the lightest structure weight as objective function,.The second part with two contradictory function of the most light weight structure and a maximum lateral stiffness of frame column as objective function. The study found that the use of ANSYS software for optimization of frame structure design, not only can reduce weight of the structure, still can make the stress of the whole structure is more uniform and reasonable. When the two objective function contradicted each other, unable to get the optimal solution, but you can seek an effective solution, satisfy the final result in main target as close as possible to the secondary targets at the same time.
