Population aging is a global phenomenon, by 2050 about 20 percent of the world’s population over 60 years old, China’s elderly population will reach 400 million people; with expanding of urbanization to remote areas, the average ratio of "Empty nesters" in China has reached more than 30 percent in major cities, individual cities or even more than 50%; the total number of people with disabilities has more than 82.96 million in China so far, accounting for about 6% of China’s total population. With the improvement of people’s quality of life, these people desire to live independently, reduce the intensity of their families and nurses. But our rehabilitation aids industry is in its infancy, which the structure of products is simple, and the function of products is single. The potential market of rehabilitation aids is large, so it is significant to strengthen designing and researching on rehabilitation aids.The lifting aid bath device designed in this thesis is aimed at improving the quality of life of the elderly and severe disorders, reducing the work intensity of nurses. Through a lot of market research and access to relevant information, contrasting related aid bath devices in our country and other countries, firstly analyze the user’s needs applying functional analysis method, and establish the overall function through the "black box method"; then decompose the overall function, solve and assemble; finally conduct program evaluation and decision by scoring and select the best solution. Appling the theory of ergonomics, giving full physical and psychological needs consideration to the elderly and severe disorders, according to size standard of adult body parts in our country complete the configuration design, build three-dimensional models in UG software, get on virtual assembly and complete movement simulation to ensure no interference. Appling finite element analysis software ABAQUS get on stress analysis to ensure that meet the strength, stiffness and deformation requirements, complete relevant structural optimization to key components and establish the final the overall structure of the lifting aid bath device. Appling two-dimensional graphics software draw overall assembly drawings of the lifting aid bath device, split parts diagram, then process parts of the lifting aid bath device and assembly, finally, make sure debugging prototype working properly.The Functional Analysis Methods applied in this paper, make design process clear thinking, rule-based, and make the design work more systematic and streamlined. The related ergonomics theory applied in configuration design giving full physical and psychological needs consideration to the elderly and severe disorders, at the same time complete the configuration design according to the size standard of adult body parts in our country, to make aid bath device more humane, secure and efficient. Bearing test on the prototype, record test data and comparative analysis deformation of finite element model with the same load, lift position, the data are consistent and reasonable, so finite model can continue to use for further research.
