International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) is the largest superconducting Tokamak device in the world. Poloidal field converter system is one of its important subsystems.Poloidal field converter system takes charge of plasma formation,ohmic heating and plasma current configuration. Poloidal field converter system will produce a larger number of experimental data during its operation. The analysis of expeimental data is particularly important for experimentors to improve the poloidal field convert system. So design and develop a set of data storage and management database system is of great significance for the poloidal field.CODAC (Control, Data Access and Communication) system has been adopted as the central control system for ITER device. It provides ITER subsystems with many tools to design and develop its own sub-control system. In this dissertation,1 will analysis the whole framework of CODAC system, its DAN service and HDF5 file system. This dissertation has designed and developed a set of database system based on HDF5 file by using CODAC data archiving services, this databsae system will provide effective storage and view of data that has been acquired for researchers.Experimental data produced by poloidal field control system mainly includes anlog signal,switching signal,audio signal as well as video signal.This database management uses DAN(Data Archiving Network) API provided by CODAC core system to receive and transfer experimental data.All data received by archive server will been stored as HDF5 files.The matplotlib module in python can conveniently plot analog signal,swith signal and audio signal waveform which can be zoomed in or out. In addtion this database system can play back the audio and video which has been stored in HDF5 files. Database management system guarantee accurate operation and fault analysis of ITER poloidal field converter system.This data management system can effectively achieve the storage and management of the experimental data, and make sure of ITER poloidal field reliable and stable running of the converter and failure analysis.In addition ITER adopt HDF5 file system to construct its database which was the first time for fusion experiment.The engineering technology and theory used by ITER can be learned by other fusion devices.
