With the continuous development and the enlarging scale of city, as well as the improvement in living standards, travel demands are increasing and have characteristics of instability, volatility and time difference. As the main component of urban traffic, public transportation can share most of travel demands of urban residents, and the most important part of public transportation is public transit. However, at present, public transit has the poor accessibility, so that the low efficiency of operation and service quality makes the development of public transit relatively slow. Therefore, to change this situation, public transit real-time scheduling which can not only decrease the travel time of passengers, but also reduce the operation costs of bus company is paid attention. Meanwhile, with the continuous improvement of intelligent transportation, as well as the increasingly mature of vehicle communication network technology, v2v communication is widely applied and has a profound influence in many fields such as vehicle safety and traffic efficiency. The paper concentrates on associating v2v communication with public transit, mainly studies the public transit real-time scheduling method under v2v communication.Firstly, based on the previous researches of public transit real-time scheduling method, the paper mainly introduces the related strategies of public transit real-time scheduling and the theory of v2v communication technology, and presents the application of v2v communication in public transit. The background lays a foundation for the subsequent chapters.Secondly, the public transit real-time scheduling method of a single route under v2v communication is discussed to analyze the real-time stop situation of vehicles at stations and develop the skip-stop real-time scheduling model with the minimum of the waiting time at all stations, the extra waiting time at skip stations, stop time at stations, and the stop operation costs of bus company. Then the genetic algorithm (GA) is solved the model. A study case with No.651 bus in Beijing is conducted, and the results indicate that the proposed model has good performance in reducing the delay time of passengers and the stop operation costs of bus company.Lastly, considering transfer problem of passengers between different routes, the paper analyzes and studies the real-time collaborative model for two routes and multiple routes transfer at the station of same name in same site and same name in different site, respectively. After determining the set of collaborated vehicles, the pairing and ordering method of collaborative transfer is presented. On the basis above, the speed adjustment model is established so that the collaborated vehicles can realize collaborative transfer at the station. Moreover, the adoption effect is evaluated. The paper presents and analyzes cases for two routes and multiple routes transfer at the station of same name in same site and same name in different site, the study cases come out the conclusions that the proposed real-time collaborative model increases the number of direct transfer passengers and the direct transfer times, it can reduce the in-vehicle travel time and transfer waiting time of passengers totally. The proposed public transit real-time scheduling method under v2v communication can satisfy the interests of passengers and bus company, and is in line with the travel demands of bus passengers. It is also consistent with the development trend of modern intelligent public transit. The paper provides the theoretical basis for applying v2v communication in public transit real-time scheduling problem, and fully reflects the research value.
