With the rapid development of China’s economy in recent years, the national urbanization level enhances unceasingly, In order to meet the urban population live, cultural and entertainment needs of a large number of major cities started building urban complex project. Urban complex electromechanical system reflects the scientific and technological nature, wisdom and comfort items, so the design more and more attention is considered key factors affect the success of the project. As urban complex electromechanical design project management involves heavy workload, technical complexity, many involved in the design coordination units, these characteristics determine its different from ordinary homes, public buildings of single-function design management. Many development companies because of lack of management capacity electromechanical design projects in the urban complex project larger errors in the design of the control, the electrical and mechanical items cause a lot of problems in the construction and operation phase, causing huge losses to the developer and construction contractors, based on this background, this paper attempts to study urban design management of complex electrical and mechanical items.This paper research on design management of city complex electromechanical project from the owner’s perspective, Firstly, the paper introduces the basic concepts and related theories of urban complex and electromechanical project features, design management; and then combined with the engineering practice and reference data has carried on the elaboration to the problem which exists in the design of interface design management, organization and coordination and design evaluation urban complex electromechanical project, And from the physical interface, interface structure, contract interface analysis caused design interface management issues, from the aspects of professional and technical information transfer, communication and coordination ability of all parties and information asymmetry analysis caused by design coordination problems, from the point of view of system, scientific analysis of the causes of the management problems of designing the evaluation, based on, this paper presents corresponding solutions, and taking the project of X city complex project as an example of detailed interpretation.This paper tries to start from the key problems in the whole process of the urban complex electromechanical project design, in design of interface management, proposed the establishment of reasonable contract structure, the construction conforms to the characteristics of the project design and management mode and construct embedded work interface; in design coordination management, build efficient communication and coordination, build the advanced information collaborative design platform, the establishment of a rational design process; the design assessment management proposed to establish a scientific evaluation system design, such as the use of Bim and advanced evaluation tools, to make a certain contribution to improving the management level of China’s urban complex electromechanical project design.
