As one of the most important means of transportation in our country, railway transportation plays a significant role in economic and social development. Freight transportation is the main component of railway transportation, it should be safe, punctual and low energy consumed. In this paper, under the conditions of certain track condition, locomotive and wagons, try to track the target speed curve of freight train by designing PID controllers on the premise of the punctuality and safety, and identify a better T-S controller by coalescing the driving experience and ideal input and output data of a train to save more energy. In this research, the T-S fuzzy control theory was applied to train speed tracking system, build the single-particle and multi-particle train model with T-S controller, and carries on the simulation procedure. The simulation results show that T-S fuzzy control method has a better tracking accuracy and energy saving effect in the speed control system.The main work of this paper is included as follows.(1) Analyzed the force of single-particle train model, the kinetic equation and state space model of it was built, designed PID controller based on this model and built the single-particle train model with PID controller. In addition, using the structure and parameter identification method to identify the control rules of T-S fuzzy controller, the single-particle train model with T-S controller could be built.(2) Analyzed the force of the locomotive and every vehicle of the multi-particle train model, built state space model for every locomotive and vehicle and identified the relationship between the coupler force and the displacement or speed of a train. Designed PID controller, built the multi-particle train model with PID controller, using the parameter identification method to get the T-S controller and built the multi-particle train model with T-S controller.(3) Under the condition of certain track, locomotive and wagons, analyzed the simulation result of the control models described above, compared the simulation result with each other, and it could be found that T-S fuzzy control method has a better speed tracking accuracy and energy saving effect in both single-particle train model and multi-particle train model. Among them, multi-particle train model has a better tracking accuracy and energy saving effect with PID and T-S fuzzy controller.
