Human society is facing serious energy shortage and environmental pollution problems, the development of sustainable, clean energy has become important. Wind energy as a clean, non pollution, renewable energy, has obtained more attentions. The rapid development of wind power industry in China in recent years, large scale wind generators has been put into operation, however, wind generators are generally built in remote areas or in the ocean, and their work environment is very serious, how to monitor and maintain the distributed wind power system is very important.Aiming at the problem of wind generator’s operation state and fault monitoring, the existing monitoring systems generally have the limitations of the communication interface between the hardware devices of different wind generator manufacturers. The OPC XML technology given in this paper can solve this problem perfectly, the OPC XML specification is based on the OPC technology, it uses the SOAP as the standard protocol for data exchange between applications, the client can use the HTTP protocol and SOAP interface to exchange OPC data in Internet environment. With the development of new network technologies such as 4G and the popularity of the new generation of intelligent terminals, in order to improve the flexibility of the traditional monitoring system of wind power generator, the combination of OPC XML-DA technology and Android platform for the remote monitoring and control system of wind power generator was proposed in this paper.The main work and creativity list as below:1. Conversion work for OPC server to OPC XML server based on the comparing and analyzing of the OPC technology and OPC XML technology.2. This design is presented based on the analyzing of OPC XML specification, Android platform and wind turbine remote monitoring system.3. Update the OPC DA server to OPC XML-DA with Web Services technology.4. The mobile remote monitoring system of wind generator based on Android is realized. The key technology and the functions of the system are described in detail.5. This design provides a convenient monitoring method for the remote monitoring of wind generator, allow managers to monitor the wind turbine at anytime and anywhere on the mobile terminals, which can ensure the reliability of wind power generation.
