| Over the years, due to the encroachment of urban construction land and the requirements of urban water drainage, the banks of the rivers in china have mostly been transformed into canal shape. Today, among many cities, there are straight, stiff concrete rivers. However, the river canalization ignored the healthy development of urban river, as well as the ecological functions and landscape features. As the result, it induced some serious problems, such as water pollutions, break of surrounding ecosystems, reduce of diversity in urban river green spaces. So the canalized rivers are unsuitable for today’s urgent need. Since 2014, affected by the foreign low impact development model, China’s urban stormwater management have promoted sustainable rainwater management strategy in the country. Urban rivers should be integrated into the concept of low-impact development. Therefore, this study combined with low-impact development and river landscape renovation theories, by way of engaging Xining City, Haihu District Jiefang canal landscape comprehensive design, I hope to provide references for urban river landscape design in China under the New Situation. |
