Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,China’s urban development has led to the rapid construction of urban waterfront. But at the same time, rapid construction also brought a series of problems:Using concrete instead of natural bank to meet the flood control and water diversion requirements;Sites and roads beside the river mostly use the impermeable material, which breaks the original natural ecosystem and natural water circle;Rainwater confluence of municipal drainage facilities on the rainwater resources caused a lot of pollution and waste.Based on the theory of Low Impact Development(LID),this paper aims to restore the natural water circulation and revitalize the natural ecological environment in the urban waterfront and explore the feasibility and method of integrating into the low impact development theory in urban riverfront landscape construction.Through the analysis and summarization of the domestic and foreign rainwater management theory, combined with cases study to develop a design strategy for urban waterfront. The strategy is using the grass swale, sunken green, bioretention pounds, storage tank, permeable pavement and other facilities to construct the Source control—Site control—Region control water management chain, and combined with landscape means,to create a sustainable way to manage the storm water. Finally combine the natural conditions of the Huangbei river in Huanghua to carry out the comprehensive design,to build a natural, ecological, beautiful, urban waterfront landscape belt.
